Biography

Olga was born in Moscow, Russia and at the age of 5 began studying piano at the Gnessin’s Children’s School of Music. Her mother was a pianist, singer, and conductor, and her father played the cello, piano, and also received a degree in Choral Conducting. Olga moved to the United States at the age of 9 and kept studying piano throughout middle school and high school. It was in high school that Olga decided to pursue music professionally.
After high school graduation Olga attended California State University, Long Beach and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. She toured with choral ensembles all over Europe and California, and conducted choirs in various venues, such as St. Mark’s Square in Venice, Mathias church in Budapest, and Kariskirche in Vienna. Throughout her four years at Cal State Long Beach, she was the assistant conductor, assistant accompanist, soprano and alto section leader, and Russian Diction Coach for the University and Chamber Choirs. As the Assistant Conductor, Olga helped prepare the CSULB choirs for performances of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Borodin’s Polovetsian Dances with the Long Beach Symphony and the Pasadena Pops. In 2005 and 2006, Olga received the Outstanding Choral Studies Student of the Year award and the Student Service Award from the CSULB College of the Arts.
Olga worked at Centralia School District for four years as a music instructor preparing and conducting 600-plus person choirs for the annual Centralia District Music Education Foundation performances at the Charles M. Schultz Theater at Knott’s Berry Farm. She is currently the assistant conductor of the Camerata Singers of Long Beach, the conductor of the Men’s Choir at CSULB, and the pianist and organist at St. Joseph’s Church in Santa Ana and St. Mary’s by the Sea Church in Huntington Beach. Olga is pursuing her M.M. in Choral Conducting at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB and continutes to teach piano and voice privately.
