OLGA’S MASTER’S RECITAL!!!!!

I have been working towards my Master’s Degree for two years now at CSULB and time has finally come for me to graduate. In order to do so, I must present a graduate recital showing what I’ve learned and what I’m capable of doing. This Master’s recital is it! The performance will feature the Bob Cole Conservatory Chamber Choir, Collegium Musicum, as well as the Long Beach Polytechnic High School’s Orchestra. We will be performing Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir I, Bach’s Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf, three madrigals by William Hawley, Whitacre’s With a Lily in Your Hand, and finally the incredible Polovetsian Dances by Alexander Borodin.

But that’s not all!!!…..Brian Dokko, who is also a Master’s candidate will be presenting his Master’s recital in conjunction with mine. His recital will also feature the LB Poly Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, as well as the Bob Cole Conservatory University Choir. They will be performing a range of works culminating with the beautiful Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The two recitals will be performed back-to-back with a brief 15 minute intermission.

The concert is FREE!!!!!

CSULB Men’s Chorus Concert

When: Saturday, March 27th, 2010 @ 8:00pm

Where: Daniel Recital Hall in the CSULB Music Department

The Men’s Chorus will be performing a variety of music, from 12th century songs to contemporary a cappella numbers, including works by Forneste,
Schubert, Monteverdi, Caccini, PDQ Bach, and more. In addition, it will feature soloists and smaller ensembles from within the chorus as well as
guess instrumentalists. This concert will be in combination with the CSULB Women’s Chorus.

Don’t miss this evening!!! It will keep you laughing and on your toes.

CSULB Sring Concert

The Bob Cole Conservatory Men’s Chorus conducted by Olga Artemova and the Women’s Chorus conducted by Julie Ramsey present a Spring Concert. The program will include compositions by Moses Hogan, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Franz Biebl, Morten Lauridsen, and will feature for the first time compositions by our own students, Alex Stephens and Carlos A. Carlos. Please come and support these fine singers, composers and conductors.

Verdi Requiem

The Annual Celebrating Music presents the tremedous Requiem by G. Verdi. Bach Motets

The Camerata Singers, soloists and orchestra will feature four of J.S. Bach’s grand Motets. Performed as part of Camerata’s 35th Annual Long Beach Bach Festival, the Motets transcend all emotions, from the contemplative Jesu, meine Freude to the exuberantly joyful Singet dem Herr ein Neues Lied. Join us for this enlightening performance of Bach’s meditative masterpieces. This performance will also feature the premiere of David Avshalomov’s “There is a Wind.” (This concert is also part of the Long Beach Bach Festival.)
